Destiny: Bungie Reveals When & How Beta Codes Will be Sent Out and More

July 10, 2014 by Stephen Daly

Developer also details Vanguard pre-order incentives.

Bungie has revealed when codes for the Destiny beta will be distributed across the various consoles involved.

PlayStation 3 and 4 owners will get their codes by email or on Bungie.net profiles on the day the beta begins on those systems, July 17th. Xbox 360 and Xbox One players will be sent codes via the same methods on July 23rd, when the beta begins on Microsoft's consoles.

The studio revealed the news on Twitter:

Players on all systems who play the beta on July 26th, the day before it ends, will unlock a special bonus when the game launches.

Bungie has also detailed the pre-order incentive 'Vanguard Armory' on the game's website. The armory features nine weapons, a helmet for each class and the 'Vanguard Honor' player emblem. Bungie says: "High above the City, in the Hall of Guardians, The Vanguard keep watch over Guardians in the wild, arming the best warriors with the upgraded weapons they need to destroy our most dangerous enemies."

The Vanguard Armory will be available to those who pre-order on day one, September 9th, across all platforms.

Destiny's installation size was revealed yesterday, while a beta trailer and details of the game's special editions were announced earlier this week to mark Bungie Day.
