NBA 2K15 Team Add Ex NBA Live Pro Dev, Scott O’Gallagher

June 26, 2014 by Stephen Daly

It’s unclear why he left EA sports or what his role at 2K will be.

A key member of the NBA Live development team at EA has left to join 2K Sports and work on NBA 2K15, Good Game Bro reports.

The developer is Scott O'Gallagher, a former professional basketball players who joined EA in the summer of 2012. With NBA Live 15 set for release in October it's not clear how much impact O'Callagher's involvement will have on the game or on the development of 2K15 but 2K are likely thinking about the future. The reasons for the departure are also currently unknown.

He'll be joining Mike Wang who left 2K Sports in 2009 to work on NBA Live before at EA Sports before returning to 2K about a year and a half later.

NBA Live 14 was considered to be by far the weaker of last year's basketball games but O'Gallagher did important work on some of the major features.

Many developers leave between projects so it's interesting to see O'Gallagher left mid-development on NBA Live 15 and it'll be awhile before we know what that means for the two games.
