Destiny Alpha Extended for Mysterious Experiments

June 16, 2014 by Ian Miles Cheong

Bungie has extended the Destiny alpha to perform experiments.

Destiny’s alpha test was supposed to officially end this past Sunday at 12am PT, but its developers have opted to extend the test beyond its previous limit.

According to a tweet from developer Bungie, the PlayStation 4-limited test has been extended to allow for “dangerous experiments” and players who hop onboard are doing so at their own risk—meaning the servers could be shut down at any given time.

Here’s what they wrote on Twitter this morning:

There's a rumor that the #Destiny Alpha might be extended to allow dangerous experiments. Play beyond the official close at your own risk!

If you haven’t yet played the Destiny alpha, now might be a good time to do so, as it’ll certainly be your last chance to play the game and listen to the soothing tones of Peter Dinklage’s voice until the beta begins in late July.
