343 Industries’ Bonnie Ross has revealed the identity of the mysterious character on the cover of Halo 5: Guardians, which was shown to the public not too long ago. You can see him (yes, it’s a him) in the image above.
According to Ross, who spoke to Polygon, the character’s name is Agent Locke, and his backstory will be revealed with Ridley Scott’s produced digital series Halo: Nightfall, which comes bundled with Halo: The Master Chief Collection. The bundle was announced at E3 2014 during Microsoft’s press conference a couple of days ago.
Ross says that Agent Locke will play a “key role” in Halo 5: Guardians. She added that the series is not required viewing for anyone playing the game, but it’ll help get players up to speed with the character and the events set to take place in the game proper.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection is set to launch on November 11, it includes beta access to Halo 5: Guardians. All the games in it are exclusive to the Xbox One.
