Smash Bros 3DS and Wii U Adds Mii FIghters

June 10, 2014 by Stephen Daly

Reggie and Iwata do battle but you can play as anyone with your Mii.

Nintendo has announced that Mii avatars can be used in Smash Bros.

There are three types, Brawlers, Swordfighters, Gunners, and each have special abilities which allow them to go toe-to-toe with Nintendo's greats like Link.

You can choose four special abilities for your Mii fighter from a list of 12 and the Mii is the 31st character to be added to the Smash Bros. roster.

Amiibo, Nintendo's answer to Skylanders and Disney Infinity, will be supported by Smash Bros. first and more games later, including Mario Kart 8.

The Wii U gamepad recognises Amiibo characters when placed against the controller and these characters can then be incorporated into the game.

Smash Bros. 3DS release date was confirmed as October 3rd this year.
