Bloodborne Details: Spring 2015 Window, 1080p 30FPS

June 10, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

The game will retain Dark Souls’ strategic combat, but hints at a party system.

We have new details for From Software’s upcoming Playstation 4 exclusive, Bloodborne. Right out the gate, From is currently looking at a Spring 2015 release window.

The official press release from Sony describes a terrifying new world, which as we’ve seen, has a gothic horror aesthetic filled with crazy mobs and nasty creatures.

Combat is strategic action, with many weapons at your disposal. Much like Dark Souls, you can’t just mash melee your way to victory. A combination of good reflexes, strategy, and smarts is required to get past the game’s challenges and explore the city to its fringes.

From this point on, details come from a recent interview with Famitsu:

The two key words for the game are blood and beast. So yeah, you can expect a hyperviolent game with this one, but they may also be central to gameplay.

From reveals that they started working on this game after Artorias of the Abyss. The game was planned for the PS4, and subsequently takes full advantage of the system’s capabilities. Or will it? For better or worse, their spec goals are 1080p, 30FPS.

Unlike the Dark Souls / Demon’s Souls games, Bloodborne will have melee and long range weapons. So, expect guns , but also possibly things like crossbows, slingshots and other projectiles.

There will be character customization, but no map display so get your pen and paper out for this.

There seems to be a lot of focus on combat, with a major strategic element, and the feel of it being a life or death struggle. Sounds par for the corps for From.

Finally, online will involve players ‘discovering’ together. Is Bloodborne going to have a party system? Time will tell.
