Battlefield 4: Players Can Now Purchase Battlepacks

May 27, 2014 by Yesika Reyes

You can spend your dough on Battlepacks starting today.

DICE has announced today that Battlefield 4 players will now be able to purchase Battlepacks as a "shortcut" to catch up with their friends in the game.

Battlepacks are bundles that include a mix of accessories, emblem shapes, profile pictures, dog tags, XP boosts, knives, and paints. They are normally acquired through normal gameplay progressions and this is still possible even after today's news. The developers noted that they added the option to purchase Battlepacks in order for players to easily jump in with their friends with more stuff at a cost.

So far, the comments and reception towards the news haven't been positive. It's understandable since it can be abused by other players in a "pay-to-win" scenario. It also doesn't help that there are still a number of bugs unaddressed by the developer.

"Bronze, Silver and Gold Battlepacks will be available for purchase at Origin.com, Battlelog.com, through the in-game store, at Xbox Live Marketplace and at the PlayStation Store. Pricing will be $1 for Bronze Battlepacks, $2 for Silver Battlepacks, and $3 for Gold Battlepacks," the pricing is detailed in the post.

On the bright side, PS Plus subscribers in North American can play Battlefield 4 for free on the PlayStation 3.

Battlefield 4 was released on October 29, 2013 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
