Batman Arkham Knight: Even More Batmobile And Arkham Knight Details

May 15, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

We learn how integral the Batmobile is to the game, and maybe drop a hint on who the Knight could be.

We have fresh new information regarding Batman Arkham Knight.

Once again, Dax Ginn has come up on interview, explaining the decision to make Arkham Knight for Playstation 4 and Xbox One came down to the Batmobile. When Rocksteady decided to commit to it, they figured out what they needed to do to make it happen. Subsequently, they realized the need to make a considerably larger game world for it to move around in. He also points out that fans had always been asking them for the Batmobile, but they wanted to give it the treatment it deserved.

The Batmobile serves as an equalizer to put Batman on an even keel with this large army of villains who have come out for him, and they have subsequently made the experience of using the car fun, even the actions of going in and out of it.

Here’s an interesting tidbit: Rocksteady got the same person who coded Batman for previous Arkham games to code the Batmobile. The mindset behind this was to imbue the vehicle with a personality that connects it deeply with Batman.

The other big element in Arkham Knight, of course, is the Knight himself. Implicit in Arkham Knight’s design is the idea that every villain Batman faces reflects a side of him. For example, Riddler matches his intellectual side, and Two-Face, his tragic background. Arkham Knight is someone that can match Batman on a physical level, in terms of one-on-one combat.

Rocksteady insists that he is a completely original concept, as someone who can challenge Bruce in a way he hasn’t been challenged before. But…

Rumors are floating around that Supernatural actor Jensen Ackles is the voice actor for Arkham Knight. Ackles also happens to have voiced another Batman-related character before: Jason Todd, a former Robin with a mean streak who has turned on Batman, and even become a complete villain, in the comics.

How do you guys feel about Jason Todd as the Arkham Knight? Let us what you know in the comments below. Batman Arkham Knight releases October 14 to Windows, Playstation 4, and Xbox One.
