Fallout 4: Pete Hines Comments on The Recent Leak

May 14, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

Pete Hines won’t confirm or deny the rumor – but he copped to something. You can find out what below.

Pete Hines has replied to comments and questions about Fallout 4, but it is not like you’re getting anything from him. Well, actually he did. Read on below to find out.

@DavidMcKenzie19 we debunked a even site made to look like it was registered by us. We do not comment on rumors and speculation like this

— Pete Hines (@DCDeacon) May 12, 2014

As Hines has revealed in this conversation, Bethesda is taking credit for taking down Survivor2299, a fansite that pretended to be an official site about Fallout 4. Here and now, however, he refused to directly confirm or deny that the recent Fallout 4 leaks are real or not.

@SpiritOfSketch then you should ignore everything unless it comes from an official source/channel. As we've said, previously.

— Pete Hines (@DCDeacon) May 13, 2014

So, now we have fans pressing Hines for more information, but he simply won’t budge on it. As he’s told everyone asking him on Twitter, he will not comment on rumors and fans should only pay attention to official sources, meaning Hines himself, a Bethesda press release, or official communication from their site or social networks.

@Cobliciousness I simply explained that 1) I don't comment on rumors; 2) if you don't know what to believe, believe the official sources

— Pete Hines (@DCDeacon) May 14, 2014

Hines made one interesting comment here, which is that he’s had to deal with fans like this for more than 14 years. He knows some people will make up things to get a response, so he knows better. Sorry guys, even if you keep spreading the rumor around that it’s true, it just won’t work.

@Cobliciousness anything that doesn't come from me is a rumor. 14+ years tells me people make things up to get a response. no thanks.

— Pete Hines (@DCDeacon) May 14, 2014

Are we getting nothing out of Hines then? Well, there is this one tweet:

@RockstarMyths what's going on is Todd Howard has stated that it will be a long time before they're ready to talk about their next game.

— Pete Hines (@DCDeacon) May 13, 2014

So there's that. Hines deferres to a statement from Todd Howard earlier this year about his team's next game following Skyrim. There is a game on the way, that he can't talk about. We'll make sure to be there to report about it when the news arrives.
