We have a source indicating that Minecraft might be coming to the Xbox One later this year.
Hold on to your pickaxes for this one. The info comes straight from Wal-Mart, who has opened up a page dedicated to pre-orders for the game. The page has this under item description:
Minecraft: Xbox One Edition is a pre-release general action game to be released in December of 2014.More information is on the way! Check back soon!So did Wal-Mart get permission from 4J Studios, Mojang, and Microsoft to share this information early? Or is this a case of a careless leak, or a complete guess from the retailer?
If it is the case, then 4J Studios have discreetly kept pace on development for the game for three platforms. The Playstation 4 and Vita versions of the game are coming in the same year.
This somewhat speedy development time may be attributed to something 4J Studios just recently tweeted about the game.
So, as you can see, 4J is making a bigger game world than they did on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, but there are set limits thanks to save size. Hopefully, this is an indication that they didn’t exceed the amount of content possible in a PS4 / Xbox One disc, since that would mean it’s an easy download.
We’ll keep you up to date on the latest Minecraft news as it is revealed. For posterity's sake, you can see a screenshot of said page below.
