Destiny Info Blowout, Character Creation & Xbox One Controller Layout

April 29, 2014 by Stephen Daly

Destiny won’t feature cross-system gameplay when it launches this September.

In a new PlayStation Access video, Bungie's community manager DeeJ confirmed a number of new tidbits about Destiny.

There will be no cross-system play between different versions of the game but you can use the Bungie app to discuss the game, keep up with what's going on in the game world, and organise playtimes with your firends.

While the game is primarily in first person, there will be third person moments including when you visit social hubs or use supers.

The Ghost – voiced by Game of Thrones' star Peter Dinklage – is your guide, and he allows you to manage your inventory, spawns your vehicle, and tells you where to go and what is possible to do at any given moment should you need help.

As your Guardian levels up you will have to make choices, DeeJ says; will they become faster, stronger or better at channelling space-magic? That's up to you and while he wouldn't comment on Raids – because he wants players to experience them for ourselves – he did confirm that there are class specific loot items.

Yesterday, we reported that Destiny gameplay modes are all done in groups of three while the game's DualShock 4 controller layout was allegedly revealed. Now,  we can show you what is apparently Destiny's Xbox One control scheme:

Bungie also recently revealed seven minutes of new gameplay, explained why Destiny is not coming to PC at launch, and said they're not abandoning Xbox fans in favour of PlayStation gamers.
