Destiny’s Newest Trailers Show The Different Classes In Action

April 23, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

Not sure if you want to play Hunter, Warlock, and Titan? These trailers should help you choose.

We have a batch of new, short little trailers for each of the character classes in Destiny, showing off the Hunter, Warlock, and Titan. We’ll share our impressions along with each video below.

Let’s take a look at the Titan video 1st.

As we already know, the Titans are the brawn, the big boys and gals of the game. Subsequently, the Titans show off their ability to get up close and physical, hitting enemies with a straight up tackle. They can also arm themselves with heavier equipment to take down bigger targets, but they are by no means slowpokes.

Now, let’s see what the Warlocks are like.

I guess you could imagine every Warlock to be like Starkiller from Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, ramped down a little bit. They can jump and float for some time, and they can strike enemies down with Force-like magic attacks. They eschew lightsabers for guns, but their not-so-unique skillset provides a unique gameplay experience.

So, we’re past the wizards and warriors analogues. What are the Hunters like?

Interestingly, the Hunters also have an energy based skillset markedly different from the Warlocks. They eschew the energy projectiles for boomerangs, but they do have a powerful energy attack up close. Unlike the Warlocks, they have teleports, and a seeming sense of finesse. Short of using a cloaking device, they seem most similar to Bobba or the Yautja.

What interests me is these trailers give us a 2nd person perspective view of these characters. Is this a point of view we will be able to make use of in the game somehow? I’d like to think it’d be more than just something to show off. Maybe Bungie has a few surprises to share with us yet.

Destiny is coming September 9 to PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
