Mojang has revealed that Minecraft for Playstation 3 is set to come out on retail. Expect to get a good solid physical copy in stores this May 16.
This follows the announcement that the PS3 version has already sold 1.5 million copies. This version of the game will come updated up to TU14, meaning it will have all the content that has been released for that version. That includes Emeralds, Ender Chests, Potatoes, and more.
At the tail end of this, they do confirm that both the Playstation 4 and Vita versions are on the way. Oddly, 4J confirms that production of these ports are delayed. I would imagine it is only natural expect development to progress slowly since it’s still just Mojang and 4J Studios working on all of them, but maybe they should give us more details.
We are really lacking in information at this point, of course, such as the possibilities of Cross Buy, Cross Play, IGC, etc, but of course we will find out in due time. You can check out our prior coverage of those ports here.
