Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 May Not Release Until Late 2021

December 7, 2020 by Dennis Patrick

Don’t expect this game during the first half of 2021.

Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines released in 2004 as an action RPG. Within the game, players follow a vampire character in the early 21st century in Los Angeles. Early into the game, we are tossed into a journey in which our character uncovers the truth behind a relic that points to the end of all vampires. This title didn’t release to be a massive hit and it was filled with different bugs. However, as time progressed the following grew for the title and it became a cult hit.

Much like the first installment, players will be taking on the role of a vampire but in a city that is filled with different factions. Players will have to sort through the different factions and establish themselves as a vampire in this new world. A lot of the gameplay also relies on players making their own choices and it seems that the skill tree upgrade system will make it possible to really allow players to compliment a variety of playstyles.

This has been quite the hyped-up video game title as fans waited years for a sequel. However, the game development process for this game hasn’t been going all that smoothly from the reports going up. We’ve seen delays along with employees leaving the project which had fans wondering if this game would end up getting stuck in development hell.

2020 has seen quite a few games being delayed out of 2020. This was something that a lot of studios didn’t have much control over. With the worldwide health pandemic outbreak, most studios were forced to shut down and work remotely. As you can imagine, transitioning to working from home took a bit of time and this ultimately caused several projects to get pushed back.

Now that studios have found their groove when it comes to working remotely, there should be plenty of great anticipated titles launching in 2021. Among the list of games is Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2. For those of you who were hoping for an early 2021 release, you might be out of luck. A publication that interviewed the CEO of Paradox Interactive, the publishing company behind this upcoming title, Ebba Ljungerud stated that he didn’t think Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 would see a release in early 2021.

Things could change but it’s looking like we may see Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 not release until the second half of 2021. This likely played a role in not only the coronavirus health pandemic outbreak but also the launch of the next-generation video game console platforms. Currently, this upcoming title is set to launch for the PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and the Xbox Series X/S.
