Batman: Arkham Knight, the next-generation project coming out of Rocksteady, might have a pretty significant plot twist. A Tweet from the official Best Buy Twitter account mentions playing as Bruce Wayne’s son, and no one has taken the message down since it was posted March 30.
If this was a big mistake, you’d expect the major cooperation to correct the issue. Instead, the below Tweet has been left for fans to decipher.
“Masked as Bruce Wayne's son, drive the Batmobile & defend the city from notorious villains,” it reads.
Did the moderator mean Thomas Wayne's son, or is Damian Wayne going to be a playable character? It’s still up in the air, but instead of focusing on this rumor, here what Rocksteady had to say about Arkham Knight possibly being their last Batman Game.
Based on a new interview with Rocksteady's Dax Ginn, we have also confirmed that Rocksteady saying this being their last Batman Arkham game does not mean Warner Bros is going to stop making Batman games after this. Of course, Warner will want to keep the brand relevant as a game IP as long as possible. More importantly, this does not close the door on Rocksteady making future Batman games. In Rocksteady's eyes, this is simply the end of the Batman Arkham story, and it's the finale that they've planned since the series started.
In fact, there are rumors that Rocksteady's next project will explore Batman's adventures back in the Silver Age, and although we get no confirmation here, suddenly that rumor isn't so easy to dismiss after all.
It’s filled with the audio from the GDC demo of Arkham Knight, which is footage that’s yet to be released.
Batman: Arkham Knight will launch October 14 on PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
