Report: Steam to Introduce Reporting Tool for Offensive Games

March 13, 2014 by Ian Miles Cheong

Valve appears set to introduce a reporting tool on its Steam service.

Valve appears set to offer its Steam users the option to flag games with offensive content or games that violate laws. Although the studio has yet to make any official announcement regarding its plans, a new image has surfaced on the Steam Database of what appears to be the store’s new reporting tool.

It is unclear what steps, if any, that Valve would take to amend games reported by the tool, but it appears to be a step in making sure that games are fit for mass consumption.

In any case, it’s too early for anyone to panic over Valve’s implementation of the tool, so we’ll assume that they’ll be taking every necessary precaution to ensure that every reported game comes under the same amount of scrutiny before Valve takes any punitive measures on the affected title.
