Razer Unveils Ultra Thin Gaming Laptop: Introducing 2014’s Razer Blade

March 13, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

Razer boasts of making the thinnest and most powerful gaming laptop in the market.

Razer has unveiled their latest gaming product. Introducing the 2014 Razer Blade, the thinnest gaming laptop in the market.

The 14” laptop is a technical achievement, for sure. Whereas conventional ultrabooks, like the MacBook Air, Lenovo Ideapad Yoga, and Dell XPS 12 are known for low power processors, improved battery life, and unibody chassis, they were not made to be capable for gaming.

Enter the new Razer Blade, specc’d to the brim with the best parts, at something like 1/8th the form factor. The Blade features an i7-4702HQ, Nvidia GTX 870M (3GB GDDR5 VRAM), and 8 GB DDR3L memory. All this in a package that’s 0.70” high and weighs less than 5 lbs.

The Blade also comes with 64-bit Windows 8.1, a 14” capacitive multitouch screen, 3200 x 1800 resolution, IPS, and a range between 128 GB to 512 GB SATA SSD storage. That 1800p resolution is the largest for a 14-incher, and thanks to QHD+, it can display as much as 5.76 million pixels, with a density of 262 PPI (pixels per inch).

Razer doesn’t share a projected battery life, but to be fair, there’s a lot to like about the Blade already. The Blade retails between $ 2,199 – 2,699, dependent on how much storage you want in. You won’t be able to play your whole library with it (especially since it doesn’t have an optical drive), but for quality gaming on the go, you can’t go wrong with the Razer Blade.
