Ratchet And Clank: Rift Apart Will Be Showcased At Gamescom

August 25, 2020 by Dennis Patrick

Another look at the upcoming PlayStation 5 title is inbound.

This has been quite an unusual year. 2020 saw the release of a worldwide massive pandemic health outbreak that is the coronavirus. Ultimately, this virus is what caused so many industries to shut down along with events being forced to close. While we didn’t get a chance to visit the different events or expos, what we got instead was a slew of different online streams and showcases for players to see just what exactly is coming out in the video game industry. Sony, for instance, held a showcase back in June that offered a look at some of the upcoming next-generation PlayStation 5 video games coming out into the market.

Among the list of games showcased was a new installment to the Ratchet and Clank franchise. Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart will be using the power of the PlayStation 5 to offer players a thrilling new platform experience. We didn’t get too many details about the game since it was just first announced, but among the footage showcased, we did get a look at the gameplay element with some of the premise. It looks like we are going to see a few new characters and areas for players to explore. We also know now that the game is going to be featured at Gamescom. Just like with all the other events this year, Gamescom is going to be a streaming event.

This announcement came from Geoff Keighley who stated on his Twitter account that Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart will be showcased at Gamescom Opening Night Live. For those of you who may not be aware, Gamescom will start on Thursday at 2 PM ET. This event will likely have plenty of games showcased that we’ve already seen announced previously, but with new footage or announcements for those that decide to tune in.

Gamescom will also likely be an event that has a few surprise announcements as well. We’re not sure just what may be unveiled at this event, but you can tune in at openingnightlive.com. With that said, there are plenty of other streaming events planned this year and at this rate, we may see more streaming events happen next year as well depending on how the coronavirus situation ends up being by the time 2021 hits.
