Games in both the Dragon Age and Mass Effect series did not offer support for controllers when played on the PC. Despite also being released on console platforms, none of the games—not even Dragon Age 2 or Mass Effect 3—had support for the Xbox 360 controller when played on the PC, sticking instead to PC and mouse controls.
That’s all about to change with the release of Dragon Age: Inquisition. Dragon Age: Inquisition Creative Director Mike Laidlaw confirmed to me today that the game will have controller support, along with support for keyboard and mouse.
When I asked him how it would work, he replied: “Yes, it will, along with keyboard and mouse, different UI depending on input device.”
So there you have it. You’ll be able to play the upcoming role-playing game on the PC with the use of the controller, along with a UI that caters to those controls.
Dragon Age: Inquisition is set for a Fall 2014 release on the PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3 and PS4. A new trailer of the game was released today, so check that out here.
