Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 Delayed To 2021

August 11, 2020 by Dennis Patrick

Developers need more time to deliver a quality product.

Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines originally launched back in 2004 exclusively for the PC platform and since its release, the game grew a rather massive cult following. However, it was a bit of a surprise to finally see a sequel announcement earlier in 2019. Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 is set in Seattle where the vampire factions and clans of the city have been at civil war. Players take on the role of a new fledgling and while this normally results in immediate execution, you managed to save your head during this mass chaos.

This is still an RPG experience with players not only able to customize and tweak their character stats, but you’ll have a variety of options on how you complete missions to even dialogue options. Fortunately, this game is not just a PC release like its predecessor, but you’ll also find platform releases for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms. With that said, while the game was originally intended to release into the market this particular year, it looks like we are going to see it push into 2021.

Announced through the official Vampire Bloodlines Twitter account, a statement was given out to alert fans that the title was pushed into 2021. We expected a few games to get delayed out of this year due to the coronavirus pandemic outbreak that the world is still going through. However, according to the statement, the reason behind this delay was to give the team more time to ensure that they can deliver on a quality product. With all the ambitions set for this title, there is plenty of work apparently left for the developers to go through that won’t necessarily allow the title to hit the marketplace before 2020 wraps.

More information should be coming soon, but for now, the title is pushed into 2021. This is likely quite the disappointment for fans who have been waiting for years to see a new installment released into the market, but for now, it looks like to get the game that the team intends to see release we’ll have to wait a bit longer. As a result, we may see the game launch across both this generation of consoles and next-generation along with the PC, on the same day.
