There is a ton of love towards Final Fantasy. The video game franchise was a massive success and while each fan has a particular installment that they enjoy over the others, most would warrant Final Fantasy VII as the biggest hit among all of the titles released so far. It’s a game that also released several years ago on the original PlayStation console platform. As a result, fans have been pleading to Square Enix to deliver a proper remake for the game on current-generation platforms.
It wouldn’t be until the PlayStation 4 that we got our first part of the remake. That’s right only a section of the remake was available for fans to enjoy and it’s due to the amount of work that goes into the video game. We’re going to see a massive title that will take place across several parts and while we don’t know just how many parts there will be in this game, the developers have moved forward with the second part of the remake.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2 is now in full development according to game director Tetsuya Nomura when he was interviewed on Famitsu. Within the same interview, Tetsuya also noted that the development team is working hard to deliver the game out quickly, although don’t expect a release date announcement quite yet. It’s a game that the developers are hoping to not only match the quality from the first part but surpass it as well.
The first part of the Final Fantasy VII Remake took several years and while it likely won’t be the case for the second part of this game due to most of the assets already completed, we still may have a slight wait to endure for the video game to release into the market. This may also present an issue where a second wave of the coronavirus will prove to be problematic for developers to really make the game as timely as they had hoped for.
