Minecraft Reveals New Marvel Avengers Skin Pack

January 23, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

For only $ 2.99, you can recreate the movies, assuming you take the time out to recreate their favorite haunts too.

Mojang and 4J Studios have revealed the latest DLC for Minecraft, and this one is going to be huge. No less than Marvel’s The Avengers are coming as Minecraft DLC, exclusively to the Xbox 360.

Here are the 35 heroes and  villains you can dress up as thanks to this DLC:

  • A-Bomb
  • Abomination
  • AIM Agent
  • Ant-Man
  • Arnim Zola
  • Black Panther
  • Black Widow
  • Bucky Barnes
  • Captain America
  • Agent Coulson
  • Falcon
  • Giant-Man
  • Hawkeye
  • Hercules
  • Hulk
  • Hydra Agent
  • Iron Man Mark 1
  • Iron Man Mark 7
  • Iron Man Mark 16
  • Iron Man Mark 41
  • Iron Man Mark 42
  • Iron Patriot
  • Leader
  • Loki
  • Kang
  • Maria Hill
  • Moon Knight
  • Nick Fury
  • Red Hulk
  • Red Skull
  • Spider-Woman
  • Taskmaster
  • Thor
  • Vision
  • Wasp

Disappointingly, all we are getting are skins, and nothing more.  Mojang also seems to have stuck with Marvel guidelines, sticking to the Avengers and not even sticking in Spider-Man or Wolverine, who have invariably joined in in the comics. Of course, the rights for those characters are separate.

Still, Minecraft is Minecraft, and if they won’t provide more in the way of Marvel-related content, you can easily make your own fun with these skins as a base alone. Obviously, you have more than enough characters to recreate the movies, and a little extra to get into some comics stories. The pack is available now on Xbox 360 here for $ 2.99 and is 172 KB. You can check out the official hype trailer below.

(Warning: Captain America’s mask did not translate well. I think Data East’s version of him on the NES might even be a closer resemblance.)
