Streets of Rage 4 Is Officially Available Today

April 30, 2020 by Dennis Patrick

In case you missed it, this beat ‘em up can be enjoyed today.

There are a ton of hyped and anticipated video games coming out this year still or have already released. You have the likes of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, The Last of Us Part 2, and of course, we can’t forget Cyberpunk 2077. As a result, some of the smaller games could have been easily forgotten and that’s especially true for gamers that may not have been around during the Sega Genesis era. One franchise that made a surprise return into development was a series that lived infamously back in the 1990s and that’s Streets of Rage.

This beat ‘em up video game series had three mainline installments and it was a series that everyone knew about back in the day. You were essentially forced to clean up the streets from a crime organization and it was a ton of fun. Oftentimes, when you talk about classic beat ‘em up video games, this is one series that will likely come up in conversation. It’s such a beloved hit that we’re surprised it wasn’t a franchise that lived past the Sega Genesis, despite that we finally have a fourth video game that you can play today.

If you have forgotten, Streets of Rage 4 launched today and it once again will allow players to relive the classic age of brawler type games. It’s set a decade after the events of Streets of Rage 3, where players are going through another round of criminals that think they own the city. We’re going to see some familiar faces return as well such as Axel Stone, Blaze Fielding, and Adam Hunter. We’ll, of course, refrain from spoiling anything in this post.

Currently, you can download a copy of Streets of Rage 4 right now for the PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch platforms. Feel free to check out the game trailer for this title featured up above along with some game screenshots down below.
