Metal Gear Solid 5: Kojima Tweaking Controller Layouts for Each Platform

January 9, 2014 by Stephen Daly

Each controller adjusted for MGS5, PS4 versions makes use of DualShock 4’s speaker.

Hideo Kojima has said on Twitter that he is adjusting the controllers of the various consoles in order to ensure that players have the best experience in Metal Gear Solid 5.

Kojima commented:

“The trigger button of PS4,360, One looks like the trigger of gun. PS3′s button is curved in the opposite direction. Each controller not only differs the location of buttons but also its forms & mechanism. Extra work for adjustment.”

As you can see in the image at the top of this post, he has all four controllers hooked up and a version of the game running on the monitor.

He also revealed that the PS4 version will make use of the speaker on the DualShock 4.

Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes is intended to ease players into the gameplay and story of the much larger The Phantom Pain and is set for release in Spring.

PlayStation and Xbox owners will both have access to exclusive content not available on the other platform.
