Tomb Raider Definitive Edition Update Not Planned for PC

January 6, 2014 by Stephen Daly

‘At this time a PC update is not planned’ says Eidos.

Eidos is not currently planning a PC update for Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition it has been revealed.

In an update on the studio's forums an Eidos admin wrote:

"Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition was designed and rebuilt from the ground up for next-generation consoles. At this time a PC update is not planned."

The updated version of the game will include enhancements to "weather and lighting effects, extra vegetation, improved physics, reactive water surfaces, and more… We didn't just improve the rain, we reworked it until it felt torrential – like another enemy out to get Lara."

A new Lara model, with improved textures, shaders, and lighting have also been added.

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition is set for release on January 31st for PS4 and Xbox One. Square Enix has defended the decision to release this version at full retail price.
