Hellpoint Has Been Delayed Until Q2 2020

April 10, 2020 by Dennis Patrick

COVID-19 is causing a delay in the upcoming title.

Hellpoint is an action RPG that follows a created humanoid being sent on a mission to discover the events that led to a catastrophic incident. It’s a tough and brutal battle that lays await for players featuring all sorts of grotesque creatures with a souls-like gameplay combat system. However, for players that are eager to dive into this game, you’re going to need some patience as it was just delayed. Instead of receiving the game this month, we’re looking at a launch sometime in Q2 of this year.

The world is dealing with a health pandemic right now and it’s thanks to this horrible coronavirus that is causing problems worldwide. Jobs are on a halt, people are working from home and lockdowns prevent most to socialize in groups. This virus is certainly being felt by the video game industry as we’re seeing events get postponed, cancelled and even games suffer from delays.

In fact, that’s the reason we’re seeing Cradle Games Hellpoint get delayed. In a new teaser trailer released today on the publisher’s YouTube channel, TinyBuild Games, it was noted that the reason we’re seeing Hellpoint get pushed back to the second quarter of this year was due to COVID-19.

“We know you are disappointed by this sudden delay. Believe us—we’re equally frustrated having to do this at such short notice. However, the delay presents an opportunity to release an even better game this summer. Everyone at our studio is excited to use this additional time to further polish the game, and also address the feedback we have gathered from players of The Thespian Feast, making improvements that we feel will make Hellpoint an even better gaming experience for everybody.”

It’s clear that the team behind Hellpoint would have liked to see this game released into the market, but this delay does give them some time to further polish the game and provide the best experience possible for players that opt to pick up a copy when the game does release for both consoles and the PC platform later this year.
