Constantinople, Masyaf and Cappadocia to Feature in Assassin’s Creed: Revelations

May 23, 2011

Ezio will venture to Constantinople, Masyaf and the underground city of Cappadocia in Assassin’s Creed: Revelations.

The latest addition to the Assassin's Creed series will take Ezio to the east, beginning in the Syrian citadel of Masyaf which featured in the first Assassin's Creed, which has since been taken over by Templars.

Ezio will also venture to the Ottoman city of Constantinople, where the majority of Revelations takes place.

"Constantinople is a massive city. It actually spans two continents—on one side is europe, and other Asia," said the game's creative director Alexandre Amancio in an interview with Game Informer.

"This is the center of the world at that time. The spice trading and all that related trade happened through Constantinople. It was one of the main reasons that Europeans tried to go around Africa—because Constantinople was this great hub controlled by the Ottomans. And, essentially, everything needed to go through that city."

Additionally, Ezio will travel to the underground Templar stronghold of Cappadocia—an underground city.

"Part of it is above ground, but the true secret is underground. This is the first time something like this has been done in the franchise. We have this complete underground city."

Assassin's Creed: Revelations is set for a November release on the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
