Microsoft Increases Digital Price of Forza, Dead Rising, and Ryse

December 11, 2013 by Josiah Renaudin

Certain first-party games in the UK are getting a small price bump.

The UK digital pricing for Xbox One first-party launch titles has been increased, Microsoft confirmed to GameSpot. This includes AAA games like Dead Rising 3, Forza 5, and Ryse: Son of Rome.

It isn’t a huge bump, and the increase is only in the UK as of now. These specific pieces of software now cost £49.99 to download, £5 higher than their original pricing of £44.99.

“Yes, pricing for select digital content in some markets has changed since launch,” a company spokesperson confirmed. "Digital content pricing is subject to change and we may occasionally offer various

or promotions. Ultimately pricing and promotions will vary by region."

With Sony pushing Killzone: Shadow Fall and Knack for £52.99, this move by Microsoft isn’t all that surprising. As long as we don’t see too many games becoming more and more expensive over time, a small change in price shouldn’t cause any serious damage.
