DICE has announced on an in-game splash page that a new server 'version' will be rolled out to all platforms warning that downtime and connection issues should be anticipated during the transition.
The page states:
“We’re deploying a new server version in the upcoming hours. You might experience some downtime in the process.”
Problems affecting Battlefield 4 have caused DICE to halt development of all future projects including map packs for the game. News of the suspension of development at the studio led to shares in EA falling by almost 7.5 per cent yesterday.
A new patch for the PS4 version of Battlefield 4 was also released yesterday but problems continue to persist across all platforms. Hopefully the new server version will go some way towards addressing the issues which have impacted the game since launch.
The changeover is said to be occuring in the "upcoming hours".
