It’s ‘Too Early’ to Talk About Just Cause 3 Says Avalanche

December 6, 2013 by Stephen Daly

Just Cause 2 multiplayer mod given developer’s blessing.

In an interview with Eurogamer published today, Avalanche's co-founder Chris Sundberg has said it's not the right time to start talking about Just Cause 3.

"We have been discussing what we'd like to do with the Just Cause IP in the future, but it's too early to talk about it just yet," Sundberg commented.

His statement comes a few days after Avalanche posted a video of the development team's trip to Costa Rica for research on its upcoming open world titles. The footage sparked speculation that the studio was in the early stages of Just Cause 3 development.

The studio is currently working on a number of other projects including the Warner Bros. published single player Mad Max game, an unannounced new IP which is to be published by Square Enix, and a number of IP for mobiles and tablets.

Regarding the soon-to-be released multiplayer mod for Just Cause 2 has Avalanche's blessing; "They are a super-talented group of game developers that I'd love to work closer with them in the future."

He added that Avalanche considered a multiplayer for the 2010 title but it simply didn't work out.

"Of course we did. But for budget and timing reasons those plans fell through. Personally, I've never been of the opinion that Rico as a character was well suited for multiplayer, but the world certainly is."

Would you like to see multiplayer in Just Cause 3?
