DICE Apologizes for Battlefield 4 Multiplatform Issues, Offers Double XP For Multiplayer

November 24, 2013 by Ryan Parreno

DICE also giving away M1911 scope, promises fixing game is priority over new projeccts.

DICE’s Karl Magnus Troedsson has come up on the Battlefield 4 Battlelog the day of the Xbox One launch to acknowledge ongoing problems with the game and a Double XP incentive for current players.

Karl starts on a positive note, pointing out millions of fans are now playing the game, and that this game is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to next gen experiences. Karl makes it a point to state that they see the game as a live service first, not necessarily a single player experience, or an offline one, for that matter.

DICE is proud of what they have done developing the game, but not proud with the turbulence following the launch. They do acknowledge the game has problems running in certain platforms, some more than others, although they skirt the issue of naming them.

DICE promises fixing these issues is their number one priority now, with the whole team now focused on ensuring all issues with the game are resolved, and expectations exceeded, before they move on to other projects.

For now, they are offering compensation for the less than stellar experience. From November 28 to December 5, fans will get Double XP for every multiplayer match they complete. On December 5 itself, they will also give all players, in all classes, access to the M1911 scope for free. This sidearm scope has a 3x zoom and was previously only available to DICE’s developers.

At the end, Karl asks fans to follow them on Facebook, Twitter, or the Battlefield 4 Control Room to stay up to date, and thanks them for their early support
