Battlefield 4 One Hit Kill Bug Explained

November 22, 2013 by Josiah Renaudin

If you’ve been wondering why some shots in Battlefield 4 are dropping soldiers with full health, you’re not alone.

The damage inflicted from a single shot to the head in Battlefield 4 isn’t supposed to be random. Each and every gun is meant to cause a certain amount of damage to an enemy player, based on where the bullet lands and in what position the shooter is standing in relation to the target. In a way, it’s a math problem, but a recent video by YouTube member jackfrags shows that the current equation being used by DICE in the first-person blockbuster is not adding up.

If you’ve been giving or receiving one hit-kill shots that just don’t seem to be making sense, you’re going to want to watch the above video to learn just what’s going on. Headshots are meant to do twice the normal damage as a bullet that hits any other part of the body, but there are multiple cases in the video demonstration that dispute that fact. Several guns are used to illustrate that the current damage being dealt from the perfect headshot is all over the place, which isn’t what you want to see from a highly competitive game.

There have been bugs and glitches all over Battlefield 4, which is something that DICE is doing everything in its power to fix. Hopefully, all of these issues will be resolved before people become too frustrated with what’s an otherwise strong multiplayer experience.
