Cloud Update Tweaks Crimson Dragon’s Difficulty Levels

November 21, 2013 by Stephen Daly

Cloud power used to alter Xbox One launch title after feedback from reviews.

Crimson Dragon director Yukio Futatsugi has posted a message on the Xbox Wire to announce that the game's developers have tweaked the title's difficulty following review feedback.

Futatsugi commented:

"Crimson Dragon is designed to be challenging. This has always been my vision for the game. I want you to feel like you’ve accomplished something each time you master a mission. To be proud of each dragon you’ve worked so hard to evolve to its ultimate form.

"My challenge as the game director is to find the sweet spot of adhering to my vision for the game while keeping the game from becoming too frustrating. Using the power of Xbox One’s cloud system, we can adjust this balance even after release. Based on the feedback so far, we’ve decided to make some changes even before the game is released."

Many of the reviews so far issued for the game have criticised its toughness and while Futatsugi may want the game to be challenging he has made some compromises.

The number of experience points gained from battles has been increased as has the amount you receive for failing to complete an objective. Jewels – in-game currency – is also more readily available and what you can purchase with them is cheaper so that players can find "your favourite combination of items".

Finally, the 'Classic' and 'Casual' difficulty levels have been adjusted to better reflect their intended level of challenge.

Crimson Dragon will be available to download as soon as the Xbox One is released and takes up 6.88GB of HDD space. The game will cost you $20 and you can check out a trailer here.
