Battlefield 4’s Latest Patch Adds MTAR, Battle Pickups In The Test Range

November 14, 2013 by Ryan Parreno

DICE has yet to release complete patch notes, so we only know what fans have found.

DICE has been mum about Battlefield 4’s latest patch notes so far, but players have confirmed two new additions: the MTAR-21 has been added to the game, and you can now pickup kits from the test range.

The MTAR, also known as the Micro Tavor or the X-95, is world renowned for its ability to use several munitions and its effectiveness in close quarters combat. It is currently in use by the Indian army and the IDF.

The weapon was introduced in Battlefield 3, where it was known for a high rate of fire. Actually, it has the highest rate of fire, as well as the second highest bullet velocity, for all carbines. However, it has high recoil, does poor damage at a high range, and poor accuracy. It is best used as a hipfire weapon at close ranges, with use of a laser sight to compensate for poor accuracy.

Battlefield players generally welcome the addition of Battle Pickups from the test range. It makes collecting weapons easier and much more balanced, and overall a fun experience.

Having brought up all these additions, we really need DICE to share the patch notes. It would be good to have clarity on what they have done in terms of game stability, including compatibility with graphics cards, random crash issues and overall performance. This is a tale that has been told several games before: Battlefield is a great game constantly hampered by core stability issues. Is it too much to expect to get a version without any issues at launch? Share those notes soon, DICE.
