Broken Sword: The Serpent’s Curse Now A Two-Parter, Part 1 Releases On PC December 4

November 5, 2013 by Ryan Parreno

Revolution Software has prepared a bigger adventure, thanks to a successful Kickstarter.

Revolution Software has announced a release date for Broken Sword: The Serpent’s Curse. The game is coming out December 4 for PC, but there’s a little catch. Thanks to the success of their Kickstarter campaign, the game is now going to be a two parter.

The crowdfunding campaign was able to raise a total of over $ 823,000, more than twice the original $ 400,000 Kickstarter goal. As a result, Revolution says they have been able to expand the breadth of the game, and will now be releasing twice the game, into two parts.

Series protagonists George Stobbard and Nico Collard return to investigate a mystery connected to the Gnostic Gospels, this  time bringing them to Paris, London, and a Middle Eastern location. Also returning are hector Laine, Lady Piermont, and Duane and Pearl Henderson.

Broken Sword is still a 2D adventure game on a 3rd point perspective, using either point and click or touch interfaces to interact with the game world. Added to these classic game mechanics is the manipulation and combining of knowledge, where players will have to draw conclusions by connecting the pieces together. It’s the sort of thing you usually do in an adventure game anyway, only formalized.

So, the first part of The Serpent’s Curse will be released for Windows, Mac, and Linux on December 4. It will be distributed via Revolution Software’s site, Gog.com, and Steam. iOS, Android and the Playstation Vita will also get their ports soon afterwards.. The second part of the game will then come this January 2014.
