Review Roundup: Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville Brings the Series to New Heights

October 20, 2019 by Jordan Biazzo

This might be the best entry in the series!

EA and developer Popcap have officially released their latest title in the long-running shooter title — Plants vs Zombies!

The third entry in the series, Battle for Neighborville, brings a new fresh feeling to the game, while also staying true to the franchise. From early reviews, it looks like Popcap managed to bring a fresh new feel to the game, however, as many reviews state — if you weren’t a fan of the previous titles, this one probably won’t change your mind. It’s fun, colorful, and whacky, but if you’re not a fan of the series in general, Neighborville won’t change anything.

Down below are some of the most respectable gaming sites in the industry, check out the highlights for their reviews on EA’s latest title — Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville :

Push Square 80

If you’re looking for a fun, colourful team shooter with plenty to see and do, Battle for Neighborville could be just the ticket. If you weren’t swayed by the prior Garden Warfare titles, you’ll likely want to pass on this, but for the sheer silliness of its characters and the world they exist in, it’s well worth sinking your teeth (or vines) into. You may never want to leave Neighborville.

Destructoid 75

Battle for Neighborville doesn’t go out of its way to surpass expectations, but it’s a silly, strange, joyful game – one I’m glad was greenlit.

Attack of the Fanboy:

While it might not be every shooter fan’s bag, Battle for Neighborville has certainly got the ability to entertain just about anyone… young or old, experience shooter player or first-timer.

Game Revolution:

Battle for Neighborville seems targeted towards an audience that arguably doesn’t exist in any meaningful capacity — PvZ players who wanted a more competitive shooter with fewer customization options.

Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville is now available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Are you planning on picking up the latest entry in the series? Let us know in the comments below!
