Battlefield 4 Tips and Tricks For Beginners

November 2, 2013 by Ryan Parreno

Don’t miss any small trick that can give you an edge over other players.

Did you jump into Battlefield 4 the day that you got your copy? We have a neat little rundown of some tips and tricks, so if you missed something, or if you’re feeling intimidated, check these out and you’re likely to find something you like.

If you’re a medic, you press E on a dead soldier to automatically switch to defibrillator paddles and revive them. Their weapons will also come back after being revived.

Additionally, if you charge the defibrillators for 3 seconds, it can revive to 100 %.

In the LAV, shoot once and don’t reload so you get an additional 12 rounds to regenerate in your ammo pool.

When in the attack boat, you can always eject into an attack boat (!) by pressing either F5 or F6.

You can repair reactive armor. When the reactive armor has been blown off, you can use the repair tool that appears on the side. You may have to repair it past 100 %.

When you’re in a vehicle, including boats, you can switch weapons by pressing F.

Ammo and Med Packs act like homing missiles, so you can just throw them in the general direction of a wounded soldier and they will get it.

If you’re an engineer, you can repair water vehicles in the water. Just take that dip into the water and pull out your repair torch and it will work.

You can also pull out your pistol to shoot enemies while in the water. Just press 2, or whatever key you have set for your secondary weapon.

The HE round is the best weapon the tank has for armored units. It can destroy all the air vehicles with just one hit. It can do at least 55 damage on vehicles up front, and 65+ if you hit the rear and the sides.

When you approach corners, you will start leaning towards its outer edge. ADS to peek around the corner. The closer you look at the wall you’re peeking at, the more of the corner you get to see.

When you’re hiding behind a wall and you can reach the top, you can ADS to peek above while staying hidden.

Engineers have something going for them against other units. Mobile AA rounds can do as much as 5 damage per unit against infantry.

When on an assault boat, use the burst 25mm instead of the 30mm cannon. It does more damage because of its rate of fire.
