See Battlefield 4’s Multiplayer Map Layouts From Both Sides

October 29, 2013 by Ryan Parreno

China vs Russia, Russia vs US, US vs China, there are two sides to every map in Battlefield.

We have for you now the layout for the multiplayer maps in Battlefield 4, showing the maps from the point of view of each opposing side. If you take a close look, you can see differences between key locations for each faction. This subtlety makes all the difference when it comes to actual gameplay.

Dawnbreaker

China vs US

Dawnbreaker is set deep in the heart of a city, just as the sun is about to come up. It is one of the darker maps in the game and will force you to prioritize infantry combat, although vehicles are available.

Flood Zone

China vs US

Flood Zone is a Chinese town set right next to a large dam. You can take down the dam, flooding the city and changing the gameplay dramatically. There are vehicles available here, but of course they become useless once the waters rise.

Golmud Railway

China vs Russia

Golmud Railways is a wider map than most. As implied, the map covers a large area crossed by railroad tracks, and has a lot of open mountains and fields to fight in. This map is ideal for vehicular combat.

Hainan Resort

China vs US

Hainan Resort is a vacation hideaway gone wrong. While soldiers fight it out in an abandoned island resort, a tanker burns oil and pollutes the air in the background. There is some vehicular and naval action but this one is more about infantry than Lancang Dam.

Lancang Dam

China vs Russia

The real life Lancang is the upper half of the Mekong River, one of the great rivers of Southeast Asia. In Battlefield 4, a portion of that river becomes a battleground for control between China and Russia. This map offers more options for heavy duty land combat than other sea based maps.

Operation Locker

Russia vs US

Operation Locker is located in a prison and offers its own unique set of challenges. This prison is located on a mountaintop, affecting the building’s structure, with many small and medium sized rooms and cells. Combat will be fierce and up close.

Paracel Storm

China vs US

Paracel Storm is a map in the sea, with plenty of open water to engage in a combination of aerial and naval combat. The scattering of capture points across smaller islands means you are going to get in the water sooner or later.

Rogue Transmission

China vs Russia

Rogue Transmission is one of the wilder maps in the game, set around a giant observatory. You can fight in the large, sprawling greenhouse below, or atop the gigantic satellite dish. To take control, you will want to get directly underneath that dish.

Siege of Shanghai

China vs US

This was the first map show, so there are no surprises here. It’s a typical urban environment, with infantry and light vehicles at your command, and a lot of buildings to demonstrate that Levolution on. You may get the most fun of this map on foot, jumping in between buildings (they’re close enough here that you can do that).

Zavod 311

Russia vs US

Well, what do you know, I wrote about Zavod 311 way back when the maps were first announced. As a short review, this map is an abandoned tank factory, and the place is crawling with inert explosive materials, which you can use if they don’t kill you. And in the center of it all, just asking for trouble, is an active warhead.

You can check out these maps again in-game today, as the game is now available for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Windows, Playstation 4, and Xbox One.
