There is a big movement right now and that’s streaming content. This generation was the real big start of streaming video game content and with it comes news of new contenders aiming to deliver gameplay without the need of any real hardware. Not only do we have Google Stadia coming down the line, but Microsoft is gearing up their service known as the xCloud. We haven’t had too many unveilings for the service, but new news has emerged to alert gamers that the streaming service will be entering a beta next month.
If you’re unfamiliar with the Microsoft xCloud, this is a streaming service that will feature video game titles. We don’t have a ton of information still on it but we do know that the xCloud service will work similarly to the Google Stadia platform. Users can connect to the service on a wide range of devices like the PC platform or smartphones and tablets.
From there you can stream the video game to play though that will mean having a stable internet connection. We’re not sure just how well these streaming services will do as neither the xCloud or Google Stadia has released into the market yet. With that said, you can still test out the xCloud service in October. There will be new players being added into the beta regularly so don’t worry if you don’t get into the service right away. Likewise, only four video game titles are being featured for the service right now.
Using the xCloud beta, players will have access to Sea of Thieves, Killer Instinct, Halo 5: Guardians, and lastly, Gears 5. Best of all, you don’t have to pay for these games or subscription service to test xCloud out. However, you will need to make sure your internet speed and device is compatible with the application.
