Skybound Games is a relatively new division for Skybound Entertainment, a company owned by The Walking Dead creator, Robert Kirkman. Announced in 2018, the purpose behind the division is to publish indie video game titles such as Slime Rancher and The Long Dark. Today we’re finding out that the company is publishing a physical edition of the popular indie party brawler known as Gang Beasts which is slated to release in December of this year.
If you’re not familiar with Gang Beasts, this is a game developed by an indie studio called Boneloaf where it was originally published by Double Fine Presents. Within the game, players take on the role of a humanoid character and battle against other players in wacky environments full of hazards. The game match ends when there is one player left standing. The game released in 2017 for the PC but has since moved on to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 platform.
With Skybound Games, Gang Beasts will no longer be a digital-only video game. Instead, players will be able to get not only the physical game for Xbox One but also the PlayStation 4 platform. From what we can gather, the physical release of this game won’t have anything unique compared to the already released digital version of the title.
For those of you who would like to receive a full physical version of the game for your collection then you can pre-order the game right now through Skybound Games while you wait for its initial release on December 3, 2019, though a worldwide release outside of North America is set to take place on December 6, 2019.
