Just as they did with Grand Theft Auto Online, Rockstar Games is bringing out new and exciting content for their Red Dead Online component of Red Dead Redemption 2. The latest update is the Frontier Pursuits which brings in specialist roles that offer gamers the ability to take on different tasks and adventures. For instance, gamers can become a bounty hunter, trader or seek out hidden treasure as a collector. This update is available and while the specialist roles are the center focused, Rockstar did add a few notable features into the game as well which you can read in the full patch breakdown below.
While there are three roles players can take on, it seems that gamers can enjoy all three at once. With that said, it will cost players fifteen gold bars to acquire the role, but there are a few means to get access for free. Before we get into the process of how to get the roles for free, let’s breakdown each role that Rockstar Games has included in the game.
Official Bounty Hunter Description
Licensed Bounty Hunters can pick up work by visiting bounty boards located near law offices, post offices and train stations across the states. There is no shortage of criminals to be dealt with and they range in difficulty, from lone low-level criminals to notorious outlaws with armed protection details and a watchful eye. Taking on an armed gang or bringing multiple targets to justice is made easier with the help of a Posse, who all will earn a cut. And keep in mind, bringing in targets alive will yield a greater reward.
Official Trader Description
Your trusted camp companion Cripps has more talents than just the harmonica. His lifetime of working with animal materials is finally going to pay off with a new mercantile pursuit for you to partner with: Cripps Trading Company.
As the Trader, you will turn your camp into a burgeoning business by sourcing materials for Cripps to produce into sellable goods. An investment of 15 Gold Bars to purchase a Butcher’s Table will get your business up-and-running.
Official Collector Description
Seek out the mysterious travelling saleswoman Madam Nazar to acquire the Collector’s Bag and get started on the path of the Collector. With Madam Nazar’s help, you will be able to explore the world finding valuable treasures, whether they’re discarded Tarot cards in abandoned camps, buried treasures unearthed with your trusty shovel, hidden family heirlooms and more.
How To Unlock All Three Roles For Free
If you don’t want to pay out the fifteen gold bars, players can acquire the Bounty Hunter License for free if they own Twitch Prime which will require players to link their account with the Rockstar Games Social Club. Collector’s who have hunted down all 54 hidden playing cards in GTA Online will be given the Collector’s Bag while Traders with an active PlayStation Plus subscription will receive the Butcher’s Table for free.
