Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director’s Cut Includes New Game+

October 11, 2013 by Ian Miles Cheong

Square Enix isn’t trying to ‘stitch up’ customers with the release of the PC-exclusive Director’s Edition of DX:HR, which includes New Game+ among other new content.

Square Enix is prepping to release a new version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution dubbed the Director's Cut, which takes features previously exclusive to the Wii U version of the game and implements them into the PC version of the game.

When the Director's Cut was first announced, fans—us included—worried that Square Enix would force players to buy the game all over again in order to have a go at the new, augmented—as it were—content. Today, Square Enix has cleared the waters to state that you can upgrade your existing copy of Deus Ex: Human Revolution with the Director's Cut content for a small fee. If you own the Missing Link DLC, you'll have to pay even less for it.

The Director's Cut is defined as the "complete package" of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, containing both the original game, plus all DLC packs, along with some improvements to the game's much maligned boss fights. It also includes a New Game+ feature so you can replay through the action with all of your previously earned upgrades intact.

Here's what it costs:

New purchase (if you don’t already have the game): £12.99/€19.99/$19.99

Own the basic game (with no DLC): £6.99/€7.99/$9.99

Own the game and Missing Link DLC: £3.49/€3.99/$4.99

In short, Square Enix has no intention of stitching up anyone or double dipping existing owners of the game. It'll be out on Oct. 22 in North America and Oct. 25 in Europe.
