One of the most anticipated FPS coming out this year is Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The video game is a reimagining of the Modern Warfare series and as such, you’ll likely spot familiar faces but with a brand new unique story. We don’t have the details yet for the narrative, but in the past, Infinity Ward has been stating that this story will be full of big moments. At any rate, we’re still expecting more details to come out for the game before its release, but for now, we have new details regarding an alpha coming out for the PlayStation 4.
During Gamescom 2019 opening night livestream, Infinity Ward was present to introduce an alpha release of their Gunfight mode from the upcoming Call of Duty installment. This was a multiplayer mode shown off earlier this month as it’s essentially a fast pace 2v2 game mode. Matches tend to end quickly and it’s generated plenty of interest from fans around the world. It’s also been present at different events but now gamers will get a chance to enjoy the game mode at home before Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is released.
This is a PlayStation 4 alpha exclusive that will be available this weekend starting on August 23, 2019. Outside of the alpha mode, it was also revealed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will feature cross-play which means players can enjoy the game together regardless of what platform they own a copy of the game. Gamers interested in the title can pick up a copy on October 25, 2019, for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.
