Ubisoft Retracts Watch Dogs PC Requirements, Claims They Were Inaccurate

October 4, 2013 by Ian Miles Cheong

Ubisoft has since retracted the PC requirements of Watch Dogs, which were mistakenly published on the Uplay service.

Yesterday, we reported that Ubisoft had revealed the PC system specifications for Watch Dogs by way of its official Uplay page. The specifications have since been removed by Ubisoft, who by way of game developer Sebastian Viard claim that the listings were pulled for being inaccurate.

"Hello. It is not the official configs," wrote Viard on his Twitter account The real specs will come out soon and will be lower than these :)"

If you've any experience with building computers, you might note that the game's quad-core CPU minimum requirements and eight-core recommendations were a tad steep. Hopefully the final specs will be a lot less prohibitive to PC gamers. Still, it looks like Ubisoft is leveraging PC hardware to the fullest.

You can take a look at the leaked specs here.

Watch Dogs is slated for a Nov. 19 release date in the US, followed by a Nov. 22 release in Europe.
