Dying Light 2 Will Also Be Available On Next-Generation Consoles

July 26, 2019 by Dennis Patrick

The plan from the start was to make this game cross-gen.

We’ve been waiting for Dying Light 2 for some time now and while it has yet to release into the market, the development team over at Techland gave fans another look into the title again during E3 2019. The video game is a sequel to Dying Light but will take place in a new area along with a new protagonist. While we knew that the game would be releasing on current generation platforms, it’s now been confirmed that the title will also see a release for the next-generation consoles as well.

It’s not too surprising to see video games start to make the move towards the next-generation of platforms. We’ve already seen some announcements regarding video games being a next-generation exclusive such as Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls VI, a highly anticipated video game release from the development team. While some games may be released exclusively to the next-generation of consoles, we will start seeing certain games launch as cross-generational. One of those video games to have been confirmed was Dying Light 2.

Techland always has an eye on the latest new toys! To be more specific — yes, the plan since the beginning of production has been to make Dying Light 2 a cross-generation title.

The announcement came from an interview between Techland public relations and Wccftech. It was during their conversation that it was unveiled Dying Light 2 would be releasing on next-generation consoles as well, though you can still expect the game to release first on current-generation video games during the spring of 2020 which was always the development studios plan. This would be for those who own either a PlayStation 4, Xbox One or a gaming PC. With that said, it’s unknown if this upcoming next-generation release of the game will see any enhancements compared to the current generation release.
