Battlefield 4 Gameplay Modes Fully Documented and Detailed

September 27, 2013 by Ian Miles Cheong

DICE has revealed the gameplay modes set to grace Battlefield 4’s multiplayer experience.

Like all its predecessors in the series, Battlefield 4 comes with an entire host of game modes, all of which allow players to compete to accomplish a wide array of different objectives and partake in a variety of gameplay styles.

Battlefield 4 sees the return of classic modes like the all-out vehicle warfare of Conquest to a frantic new Obliteration mode which sees players in a mad dash to drive vehicles and go on-foot to deliver explosives to objective points.

With seven distinct game modes, Battlefield 4 is the most varied Battlefield experience to date, all of which is played out across 10 multiplayer maps. The developers at EA DICE have zoned out the playable combat areas, adapting flag layouts, and catering for a wide variety of gameplay styles.

Here's what's in store:

·         Conquest (Playable in the Battlefield 4 Beta) – All-out vehicle warfare mixed with intense infantry action across land, air and sea
·         Domination (Playable in the Battlefield 4 Beta) – Fast-paced infantry variant of Conquest
·         Obliteration – Mad dash in vehicles and on foot to deliver explosives
·         Defuse – Competitive close quarters combat
·         Team Deathmatch – The classic shooter mode – Battlefield 4 style
·         Rush – Fight deep into enemy territory by detonating their M-COM stations
·         Squad Deathmatch – Four squads fight on the ground with limited vehicle support in a race to the top of the leaderboard

Battlefield 4 will be out on October 29 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. A few weeks later, it'll head on to the next generation of consoles. Battlefield 4 will be available for PlayStation 4 starting November 12 in North America and November 29 in Europe, and Xbox One starting November 19 in North America and November 22 in Europe.
