The Witcher: Wild Hunt Will Run 720p in Docked Mode With Dynamic Resolution Enabled

June 13, 2019 by Jordan Biazzo

It’s still pretty impressive to see the game on the Switch

One of the biggest announcements to come out of Nintendo’s E3 2019 direct was that CD Projekt RED’s massive open-world RPG would be heading to the Nintendo Switch! However, many fans were wondering how would this work?

The Witcher: Wild Hunt is a very demanding game, from a massive open world, to beautiful visuals, to the vast environment landscapes. Plus with the Nintendo Switch not being the strongest machine on the market, fans have been wondering how would the game run on the little machine? It seems we now know thanks to the official Withcer Twitter account.

Check out the official announcement from the Twitter account of the Witcher down below:

540p handheld, 720p, with dynamic resolution enabled, on screen.

Yes, you heard that right; The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will run at 540p handheld, 720p with dynamic resolution enabled on screen in docked mode. That’s not terrible as the game is very demanding and that the Switch is a small console.

It is a little bit of a bummer that they couldn’t manage to hit 1080p while in docked mode, but I guess we’ll have to take what we can get at this point. It still will be pretty cool to have the Witcher on the go!

If you happened to miss the announcement live, make sure to check out the reveal trailer down below:

The Witcher: Wild Hunt is set to release for the Nintendo Switch sometime in 2019.

Are you excited to see the massive open world RPG make its way to the hybrid console? Let us know in the comments below!
