Dark Souls 2 Coming To PCs And Consoles This March

September 19, 2013 by Ryan Parreno

From Software promises a better PC port.

Dark Souls 2’s release date has been revealed today in TGS.  From Software’s brutal brawler is coming March 11 next year for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. The PC version of the game will be released soon after.

Developer Yui Tanimura promises that this time around, the PC port will not suffer the problems of the last game. The first Dark Souls’ Prepare To Die edition had low resolution texture that fans themselves took care of in short order.

Tanimura says the PC version will be tentatively released in the same month, but they are not committed to a date yet. From Software is making the PC and console versions simultaneously, but they want to go one step beyond and optimize it for PC.

USGamer’s Jeremy Parish got a taste of newly revealed changes to the game when you play undead, which is no longer advantageous. Most alarming of all is that your game can now be invaded by other players when you are in an undead state, completely eliminating its desirability.

Furthermore, staying undead progressively makes you less attractive, and your hair will fall off, and if you enter the state often, your maximum health will actually go down. On the flip side, you can use a new item called White Sign Soapstone to summon friends and help you cross hard areas.

Still looking forward to Dark Souls 2 after hearing all that? Great. Expect a far more difficult, but also more fair Dark Souls experience when it comes out next year. You can check out the TGS trailer below.
