Anthem Lead Producer Admits The Title Needs Work

June 8, 2019 by Dennis Patrick

Development team is pushing forward.

Anthem was a big anticipated video game title from BioWare. This is a company that definitely knows how to deliver a deep narrative RPG adventure but they didn’t quite hit the strides that they hoped for with their latest release. Now that Anthem has been out for some time, the majority of gamers found it to be somewhat a letdown. However, that doesn’t mean that the game development team behind the title is giving up on it yet. Instead, they are pushing forward and looking to deliver a solid game experience that the community wants it to be. This shred of news comes from GameSpot after Anthem’s lead producer, Ben Irving gave his thoughts on the current status of the title.

While EA didn’t have a traditional press conference, the company did hold a livestream where we got a few announcements and reveals. For instance, we learned about Apex Legends upcoming season 2, also we got the gameplay footage reveal of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Gamers who enjoy Anthem may have been a bit concerned as the title was absent from EA’s livestream. GameSpot noted that Ben Irving, the lead producer behind the game, revealed that the developers are still pushing forward despite the criticisms over Anthem.

We’ve learned a lot these last few months, we really want to make the game better, we believe Anthem can be a really amazing game. We know we have some work to do, we just want to work with the community and build it together and make it the game that everyone wants it to be.

Right now with Anthem, the focus is on the test server and getting feedback from players on it. From there the developers are able to craft future content and updates that would be appealing to those playing the game. This may help turn Anthem around, but again, quite a few seem to be dropping the game already. So while we don’t have the road map of what’s to come in the future, its at least reassuring that the developers are putting their focus on the feedback given from players when it comes to maintaining along with growing the Anthem community.
