Review Roundup: A Plague Tale: Innocence is a Compelling, Gripping Story With a Flare of Horror Thrown In

May 17, 2019 by Jordan Biazzo

See what critics have been saying.

review roundup

Focus Home Interactive’s latest game to release is the story-driven game titled A Plague Tale: Innocence. From early reviews, it looks likes the game is performing well pretty well with critics.

Developer Asobo Studio managed to create a world filled with dread and fear paired that with a great story and to top it off with responsive gameplay and you got a great title on your hand! Reviewers are stating that the game is worth your time and from all the hype, I’m sort of interested to pick it up to see how good it is for myself.

Down below are some of the most respectable gaming sites in the industry, check out the highlights for their reviews on Focus Home Interactive’s latest title — A Plague Tale: Innocence:

Twinfinite
90

A Plague Tale: Innocence is a late-generation gem that shouldn’t be missed by anyone with even a passing interest.

PlayStation Universe
90
With its well-designed stealth mechanics, unique setting, captivating story and stifling, often terrifying atmospherics, in Innocence: A Plague Tale, Asobo Studio might well have crafted the best and most pure horror title of the year.

DualShockers
85
A Plague Tale’s linear story is immediately compelling and gripping.

GameSpot
80
Powerfully ghoulish depictions of the plague and rats aside, Innocence is ultimately an emotive story of resilience against harrowing odds.

IGN
70
A Plague Tale: Innocence has a great story, but the gameplay has a level of convenience that undercuts the perilous world.

The Jimquisition

A Plague Tale: Innocence is the best game I’ve played this year. Easily the best. A stealth game with puzzle elements and a hearty dose of horror, A Plague Tale may turn heads with its killer rat swarms, but the real star is the great writing and character portrayals. This is something special.

A Plague Tale: Innocence is set to release for the PS4, Xbox One
